The outlook for a recovery in global trade has improved, as trade in goods expanded faster in the second half of last year than expected. According to new estimates by the World Trade Organization (WTO), the volume of trade in goods will increase by 8% in 2021, after declining by 5.3% in 2020, continuing its recovery trend after the pandemic-induced collapse. Trade growth will stop at 4% in 2022, according to estimates, and the effects of the pandemic will continue to be felt as this growth trend fails to reach, however, the values recorded before the outbreak of the pandemic.
